La Leche League of Ireland are delighted to invite you the beautiful midlands of Ireland and the bustling town of Portlaoise! We look forward to welcoming you to as slightly different format of Conference than we have traditionally had. We hope to see as many of you from our Groups as possible so that you can enjoy the chance to connect with other breastfeeding families and advocates. Who are the speakers and topics?

Talks from a diverse range of speakers to suit mothers and parents, voluntary breastfeeding supporters, IBCLCs in private practice, clinicians working in infant feeding and the wider lactation field, such as Fergal O’Shaughnessy, Prof Elizabeth Barrett and keynote speaker Juanita Jauer Steichen.

 Topics including: 

• Medications and Breastfeeding
• Breastfeeding after birth interventions
• WHO code

How much are the tickets?

Tickets will be on sale at an early bird price until 31st January 2025 and then be on full price sale thereafter. If the early bird cut off date presents you with a challenge in terms of funding, please contact info@lalecheleagueireland.com

The early bird ticket prices per person are:

• Attendance in person €50 (Full price €60)
• Attendance online       €50 (Full price €60)
• Add on a partner ticket for in person attendance €10
• Children not partaking in activities are free to attend

In person booking details

Tickets for in person attendance will be on sale until Wednesday 5th March 2025 (subject to availability).

Tickets will also be available on the day to purchase at the event (subject to availability).

Ticket cancellations must be received by  Tuesday 4th March 2025 to be refunded. 

Online booking details

Tickets for online delegates are available for purchase until Tuesday 4th March 2025. Only tickets purchased before Tuesday 4th March 2025 will have access to the livestream.

Ticket cancellations must be received by  Tuesday 4th March 2025 to be refunded. 

Recordings will be available for viewing from 17th March 2025  (including in person), and until 17th April 2025 for all attendees.

You will receive log on details one week before the event, and details on how to access the recording on 17th March 2025 via email.

What does the ticket price include?

The stated ticket prices for in person attendance will be for the education and tea and coffee breaks for the Saturday. It will not be an all inclusive accommodation package.

To keep ticket prices as low as possible in a period of high costs of living, we want you, the attendees, to have the flexibility to find accommodation that best meets your needs.

What accessibility considerations have we made?

To ensure that the location is as accessible to a diverse range of attendees, we have found somewhere that has good transport links and is close to numerous hotels, B&Bs, etc., or indeed commutable for those who live in certain parts of the Country.

The venue has worked hard to be accommodating to those with disabilities and is wheelchair accessible.

We will have a room dedicated to accommodate the needs of those who may need a quieter space, and will also ensure that seating will be reserved to accommodate those with visual or hearing impairments and to have dedicated wheelchair areas for any wheelchair users and companion/colleague.

We really want to ensure that our event is accessible, so we hope to help to support and reassure you in the run up to and during the event. We welcome any feedback.

As is usual at La Leche League functions, your children are welcome to accompany you to sessions, meals, and all Conference areas. Ordinary baby sounds or gleeful toddler noises will not distract speakers or delegates. A crying baby, however, may be distracting to others and may be upsetting for the baby. You may have to miss part of the session, but listening to your child so that you can tend to his/her needs is the most important thing you can do.
